Out There Magazine - Inspiring Illinois Issue
|Publisher Names||by Out There Publishing LTD|
OutThere is the award-winning luxury and experiential travel inspiration journal for unique, affluent and discerning community of ‘men of distinction’ in 20 countries worldwide. We specialise in curating opinion-leading content, from in-depth, first person essays on the world’s most amazing experiences – taking our readers on journeys that extend beyond the mainstream – to celebrating global cultural expressions and the people responsible for making the OutThere world so unique.
Diversity has always been something true to the heart of the friendly people of Illinois. Ask anyone on the streets of Chicago, Galena, Springfield or even along the famous Route 66 – Illinoians value togetherness, internationalism and balance. And it’s no accident; being right bang smack in the middle of the country means they have a little bit and a lot of everything. They’re also respectful of where they’ve come from, but more than anything, Illinoians are excited about where they’re going. Illinois is all we love about America in one open-minded State.
In the rest of the magazine, John Gregory-Smith travels down under to the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, and Clark Harding takes a trans-continental Canadian trip, trying not to go off the rails. Editor Uwern Jong heads to India for the first time, in an epic journey to the birthplace of the Ramayana in Karnataka, to discover a community-based tourism project that just blew his mind.
We were lucky enough to be among the very first to stay at the Shinta Mani Angkor Bensley Collection, a new venture by the prolific hotel designer and architect whose name the property bears. We also take a trip to discover two of Taipei’s top hotels and check in to London’s latest whimsical property, The Mandrake – where we also had the pleasure of shooting our rock inspired, Fitzrovia style story.
As committed, OutThere ‘Experientialists' with a taste for the finer things in life, our founders Martin Perry and Uwern Jong are always looking for opportunities to try new things and share them with our readers, followers and fans. And as gay men who believe in boundless travel, we appreciate the subtle but important issues around the destinations, experiences and hotels, both near and far, that OutThere travellers hold dear. OutThere is a product of our shared passion for travel and the sum of our careers in magazine publishing and marketing. Each quarter, we bring together all our travel experiences, plus those from our likeminded global contributors in a quality printed, lovingly crafted and award-winning journal. We dedicate a third of each issue to one destination, and the rest is made up of in-depth travel features, beautifully photographed fashion stories and the world's most exciting hotels in the hope of inspiring others to follow in our footsteps.
